Well, the first two long awaited and much delayed handbooks (FieldCraft and Carving) are now being released on the 24th November. Let's hope they actually are this time.

What i want to know is ???...... how does `ray` manage to make a birch bark canoe in only ten days or so using only an axe and a carving knife -a remarkable achievement !! Yet he won,t let on, how he makes these books ??? What does he use for mulching the wood pulp into paper ?? What resin does he use to bind his books ?? What does he use for ink ??

The man is truely a wizard !!!
;):rolleyes::rolleyes:

According to Steven at Woodlore, this is not going to happen. He said that any such handbooks were "a long way off". Maybe the folk at Amazon are trying garner a bit more business on the back of this fabled title. Personally, I'd love these books to be published - it'd be great to see which techniques Our Man Mears recommends for different projects. Of course, Woodlore may be pulling the wool over people's eyes and trying to snaffle sales of the books for themselves before release to other retailers; then again, maybe I'm just being cynical...
