oatmeal blocks x4 £2
whitner x9 £1
chicken soup and oxtail soup £1.50 for both.

Well yes it was. You didn't say you wanted them, just that you were interested, and even that was interest depending upon dates. Big difference to actually saying you will take them if still in date.
