Went last night.

Interesting, amazing and...a little surprisingly.. very funny.

If you get the chance to go and listen to someone who is a "legend" and deserving of the epithet, then do so.

I'm off to hear Ranulph Fiennes talk at a local theatre in a couple of weeks.

Has anyone been to one of these things?

I'm expecting it to be a lot like a thing that was on the radio a short while back - in which case it will be very amusing.

Hi, I have been to a couple of talks Ray Mears and Bear Grylls both completely different types of talks in the way they were presented, Rays was laid back and very interesting where Bear's was at a fast pace even his entrance onto the stage was abseiling into the auditorium!

As for a talk by Ranulph Fiennes, that would be quite interesting, my son bought me his book 'COLD' really interesting read and would think his talk would be good to say the least, will have to look out for him doing a talk down my way!

Seen both Ray and Ran; Ran a few times including a relaxed chat on Exmoor where he lives. Both cracking speakers with good humour thrown in. They both have the ability to suck in the audience and time disappears. Can highly recommend both of them

Remember watching him (think it was Parkinson interviewing years back) and he was pretty riviting. With his languid and laconic style he was talking in a very underatated way of his time in the services, and very funnily explaining why he was asked to leave. (Wont repeat it here as he may use it in his talk and it's worth hearing from the man himself).
Would definately.go to hear him speak, very much cut of the cloth that put the great in Britain.
