Who anyone know the best time to harvest seeds from Ransoms and Alexanders - ie visual clues to "ripeness" - for planting?

Ramsons are best harvested when the seed heads start to open and the seeds themselves turn black and drop out easily. They taste really good when put through a pepper mill :D

Alexanders I have no idea

Not far off with my local Ransoms then!
I will try the "Garlic Pepper" as well!

Umbellifer seeds are best harvested when the plant has died and dried naturally - then they just shake off and are easy to store for planting.

Alexanders seeds would be black when ready, for you probably late August.
