I've fancied getting a down bag for ages, and I've been finding that my Ajungilak Kompact 3-season is just too darn warm half the time, so I went out last week and bought myself a birthday treat - a Rab Quantum 200. This is a very minimalist bag, weighing in at 480g, and it packs down nice and small:

That's a '58 waterbottle and mug on the left, and a hammock / mozzie net in a 8L drybag on the right.
As I said, it's a minimalist bag - no zip, no neck baffle, no clever little gimmicks at all. It's also got a very narrow profile, so don't buy one without trying it on first!
I used it in my hammock overnight up in the Pentlands on Wednesday last week (first overnight for the new hammock / basha rig
) and it did the job just fine. I'm not sure what the temperatures actually were, but I think the forecast was for about 6 deg C down at sea level, and I was perfectly comfy up at about 400m - although I was wearing socks, longjohns and a merino longsleeve top.
All in all, a great little bag if your looking for something compact and lightweight for the warmer months. However, because of the narrow fit you should definitely try one on before buying.
