Been practising our knots/hitches this evening with my eldest boy, quick quiz (no prizes) - see if you can ID them. Extra marks for some info about the knot/hitch and its uses (Hoping I tied them correctly)

That's not what it's called in my book... But some knots have multiple names. This particular one has a breaking strength of 70% and doesn't slip even a millimetre under load.

Nope. This knot was devised as a replacement to that.

3 is a hard one, because of the picture.

6 looks like a guyline hitch , but lots better.

6 and 1 can both be used on guylines.

Without the ability to turn them over and look at the back, it can be very difficult; so here are my guesses....

1, Constrictor hitch
2, Figure 8 stopper knot
3, Lariat or Honda knot
4, Alpine butterfly
5, Triple bowline
6, Adjustable tension hitch

Though they might well be my own names for them!

Just made a load of guy lines using the tarbuck knot - great little knot, very useful.
