If it's weather like we've had, scorching, and you can get it out into free flowing air, just as soon as it's wilted.
If it's damp and muggy, you'll just get mould if it can't dry out fast.

It's better than onioins that way though, the rot doesn't seem to travel down the layers into the bulbs I found, but they still don't keep well, and are gone to puffs before Winter is over.

What kind did you grow ? :)

I think it was printanor f1 this year, it was one of the f1's anyway.

Ours had only just started to flop this week but black rot had set into some so we pulled it and it's now currently hanging in the store courtesy of a good bunch of folk from BSkyB.

I prefer to dry well aired on a drying rack and plait afterwards. Greenhouse staging is a godssend for this
