Good evening.

I fancied doing something a little smaller than usual...

As the title says a Lauri 63 blade with a Laburnam handle, factory ferrule & cap.

Nice work is the laburnam dyed. I do think the handle is touch short myself something I fell fould of recently.

Thanks, the Laburnam is naturally this colour.

The size was a deliberate choice - for me a three finger necker, or a ladies/junior knife etc.

The third attempt at making this sheath came out better.

I partly did this wee necker as a means of practicing a butt stitch that is new to me.

It lies flatter than my usual method but is difficult to measure correctly so it fits just right.

Still need to improve the butt stitch but it looks ok. Sewing from the tip upwards seemed to help, perhaps an extra mm or so would have been better.

Dyed dark brown, a lick of shelac inside the neck, burnished & finished with Carnauba wax.

Now that really is something.

I like the whole outfit and how it gels together, but the knife or sheath can each stand on its own merits independently.

I'm a big fan of small knives and great workmanship, and that's exactly what we have here.

Thanks for the sneaky peaky :)
