A couple of my new carving sharps needed protection.
First up; my Robin Wood hook knife. I'm not sure where I first saw this idea but it isn't mine.

Next is a Mora 106 that I put a handle on. This idea I copied from those made by a guy called Reid Schwarz. It was a real pain to make so he must have tremendous patience.

I have protected my blades with a plastic car door protection I cut to length......

You wont be alone in that corner I sometimes use plastic tubes or tape an carboard
