Trying to post in the "Flora and Fauna" forum but, all I get are "server errors". Is this an account privilege thing I overlooked? Tried using both Chrome and Firefox and I'm on a Windows machine.

If I missed a forum problem area, please let me know!

TIA,
Sid

I'm not running VPN at the moment on this computer.

I can post here but, not in the Butterfly thread over there for some reason so, I'm assuming it isn't a cookie or basic connection issue.

I know that if I run Safari then I can't post either, but Chrome manages.

It might be a members privilege though; you need to be a full member to post directly onto the forum, otherwise you need to host elsewhere first.

If you like I'll pester an Admin and see if they can help ?

Got back on. Not sure what the glitch was. Must have been a Javascript error or something since I cleared things and retyped it and it posted. I tried adding a Smiley and it was enormous as well, like several hundred times the size of the text!

We have two sizes of smilies. One is normal, the other totally fills the screen. I stick to the BcUK old ones and avoid the new set, tbh.

Oops! We ran into some problems.

Trying to post two thumbnail pics via iPhone and Safari.
Am I attempting too much?

If you get this I can send text

Edited to add:
You seem to have received this and I’ve managed to send half a post ref Camping disasters. I’ve edited text on that but cannot post a follow up even without it’s picture.

This is not happening at my end of the string. Maybe iPhone. Maybe Safari maybe the BcUK cocoa tin - I dunno.

This is a test post. [iPhone bee emoji]

This is second attempt without the iPhone emoji.

NAILED THE BASTILLE!
Third edit - I cannot use iPhone emojis on this site.
I earned my living as a learning specialist (Not a teaching one). I have an activist learning style myself it goes:- Sod the instructions, don’t give me advice, I don’t care how you did it, I’m going to press all the buttons one after the other and see what happens! 101? Never heard of it. To do is to learn.

That’s just how I do things. Others do it differently.

ANYWAY - I’ve sorted out MY “Oops, we seem to have a server problem.”

Sorry for the problem.
We're doing upgrades over the next few weeks, to both the front end and the forums, hopefully that will resolve this issue.

Test above. Used to be the smilie filled the whole screen.

Keyboard emojis don’t work, never have for me.

When I say I can’t use iPhone emojis, I’m not just saying that they don’t appear. They actually block my whole message from the server and I get the “Oops” message.

It’s OK I can live with that :)

Like this!

This message consisted of nothing other than the iPhone smile.

If this helps great. If not it’s still not a problem now that I know what’s causing the hang up.

edited to add:
iPhone keyboard emoticons (remember those?) work and are translated into BcUK emojis.

[ : ) ] = :)
