Hi

I have a tin can 5 cm high and diameter 10 cm. I want to use it as a pot/billy stand for use with a meths burner and pop-can stoves.

I think it's tall enough, just about, but my question is this - What do you think I need to do about air holes?

One ring around the bottom of the side and one around the top?

How many and what size? Do top & bottom need to be the same size and number?

All advice appreciated.

Thanks

As it is a stand and not a wind shield, the more the merrier. Not so many as to weaken the stand but more not less is the way to go I have found. In the past I have just wacked them in with a 6 inch nail, no need to drill. It will only be in use for 3-6 months before you try something else.

With a lot of home made kit, first one proves the idea then you spot something else, ( bigger tin, stronger walls or something) and you make mark two is what I meant.
