Poo poo picture. Boar?

In conjunction with my recent track thread, here's the photo of some scat.

The piece of Holly on top of it is rather apt as it was taken at Christmas time.
The picture of the track was taken 1/2 a mile away and 6 months later (June).
The scat was found in a small goyle between two fields and very near to a large, private woods that contains conifer and deciduous trees.

The scat is about the size of a Cola can.

Yes, I would certainly say that was boar. I can't think of any other mammal that leaves such distinctive doo doos in this country.

I've never seen boar scat either although I don't think they're round these parts anyway.

Definitely one you could recognise in the future, thanks for posting the pic.

I'm going to have to come up with a plan of action to spot one now.
I wish I had more time to look for sign but I was out on a rough shoot that day and had to keep moving along.

At the weekend I went out and had a pint with the farmer who owns the land and he was quite pleased to hear he had boar around there.
