Pondering a move to Nova Scotia

As the title suggests....I'm toying with the idea of upping sticks again and finding some adventure. I've been back in the UK for 4 years now and I don't mean to offend but I find our country a bit suffocating in so many ways. So one exit plan in mind is to head to Nova Scotia (have some friends out there) and get a job back in mining or oil and gas - buy a bit of land on the waterfront, build a house - see how it goes...

Anyone got any experience of doing anything similar out that way? Would be really interested to hear of any NS experience anyone might have.

Beautiful place, I lived there and around there for a couple of years and I'd move there. You need to secure some work though or you'll not be enjoying much of the countryside rather than doing all you can to find money to live...

With friends there it's a good move, if it was just you and yours then i'd say it was quite cut off out there, even from the rest of canada, especially with quebec between you and the rest of it.

Yeah, I'd look to secure work first...haven't heard a bad word about the Halifax area yet. Land prices don't seem bad at all neither!
