I have a couple of British Army Ponchos here, will check but I believe they are the new issue, Still heavy but lighter than 58 pattern, the popstud together to make a larger shelter. If your interested I may just be able to sell you one or maybe 2 if I have them too spare. Just pm me. I will give you the details in my reply.

I go for a cheap X-large £4 green plastic poncho from the local camping shop. It opens out flat as a huge flat rectangle with a hood in the middle.

I put some of those hole thingys in the corners and sides and it makes a great emergency tarp if you tie the hood in a knot to keet the rain out.

Set up as an upside down tarp with hood untied and a bottleunder the the hood it makea a great rainwater catcher.

It's a three in one marvel and can be carried in your jeans pocket.

Cool... These guys seem to be the cheepest and are based right in my town (Rugby)..

Since i read this thread I have been searching the house.. I had a great poncho made by a Scandinavian company in pertex 5, it had eyelets, press-studs the lot.. and i can't find it..

Still at least my useless little town seems to have a decent army surplus
