Thanks Jared and Beer Monster,

£50 is a lot for a poncho, but I like the design of the thing, I'll look into it further, If I get one I'll post a review

:)

Anyone got one of these? They look interesting but I'd be a bit worried about all the seems?

I've got one, its my favourite poncho ( OK Ive only ever tried 4 )

Its well thought out, eg the tumb loops are useful it also has an elastic toggle to join the 2 bottom centre eyelets together through your legs, in wet & windy conditions that's very useful.

There's a inch wide hem running all round so all press studs and eyelets are on double thickness material.

The only extra seem that could effect anything, as far as I can see, is the flap that covers the zipped pocket which, like the seems for the hood, is taped. Another nice touch is the pocket has an inside access zip so if you pull in your arms and head, turtle style, you an get a map and read it without getting it wet.

Drawbacks are that the press studs aren't NATO spacing nor double sided, so not easy to connect 2 together.

The german poncho doesn't rustle in the wind, but the eyelets can pull out if used as a basha. 58 pattern is bombproof, but crinkles like a crisp packet. Both are green, both keep you dry and both are cheap to replace if you do wreck it. Take your pick.

Interesting. I've just noticed that half the photos have a poncho with a neck zip and half don't? If you look at the green regular it doesn't but the blue one does?

Glen does yours?

Not a neck zip, the only zips are horizontally across the chest. The neck has drawstrings from the hood with 2 toggle hanging down, it maybe that in some of the photos that looks like a vertical neck zip?

Update: Looks like your correct and they now come with a zip neck and slightly different hood. Mine also has a large logo across the storm flap.
