Probably a nice easy one for you guys but I spotted this plant down the woods today and it just struck me as out of place as I have never seen it down there before.

The leaves are very pointed and very sharp on the tips and it seems to be growing quite aggressively. I am assuming some bird ate some seeds and deposited them in the woods.

Yup Butchers Broom or Jew's Myrtle. Never tried it but you can supposedly eat the young shoots like asparagus. Don't know about the fruit though.

Thanks guys, that was super quick! The picture Goatboy posted definitely looks like what I saw. I'll keep an eye on it and see how it grows over the year.
