Ive just been out walking the dog when i noticed these, luckily i had my phone on me, are they edible as the second one looks like it will give a good harvest.

Top one is lords and ladies I reckon or cuckoo pint as it's sometimes known. We get these in and around our garden. The other one - dunno - looks interesting though.

First one looks like "Lords and Ladies" Arum maculatum. apparently quite unpleasant to eat, but roots apparently good when cooked.

2nd one looks familiar. Kind of looks related to ivy doesn't it but I suspect is isn't.

Rich is right, the second is Black Bryony and the berries are extremely poisonous, they contain glucoside saponin - so don't touch!

Lords and Ladies is also poisonous, especially the berries. The tuber is also poisonous although it has been eaten in the past if prepared properly e.g. roasted but I wouldn't recommend it.

Lords and Ladies. All parts are poisonous, including the tuber, although in the past it was somehow processed to extract a starch which could be eaten. Marcus from the Wild Food School down south was experimenting with doing this in 2006. I'm not sure how he got on though.
