Pin in the map

I was just wondering if the forum had thought about using something like pin in the map to enable forum memeber to find other members local to them.

for £10 a year you can have a premium acount which memeber can then pin there locations of it the want. (not sure if there is a limit to the amount of pins you can have)

could also be used to mark good camping areas.

Hey Tank,...

you can host and "collaborate" on google maps,...

i host a small group on our Blackberry group ,..

and its FREE!! hahaha

its easy enough but gimme a shout if you need owt....

you need a google account ,..

log in and go to my maps,..and look for "collaborate",..then you just send the link to your friends email addy,...
(it dosent have to be a googlemail account its just a link for them to access the map)



we even have our own colour pins,....

we all put our camp sites in too,...

and any areas of interest,...

i put my house on it and now Southey comes round and stands on the wheelie bin when i,m in the shower,...

but according to his pin he lives in a field so i cant return the favour,....,..

Sounds useful. Do the other users need to be registered and login with a google account too?

The google one is very useful and works well. the only draw back is you need a google account to update.

we had a google one a long long time ago, but it so happens that we'll have one again in the next couple of weeks, linking it into the user accounts is a bit of a nightmare so it will be linked in but not to user account, people will have to put themselves in.

it will be a google map linked in, anything we need to put on the server we will.
