What fish is this? Is it a barbel? Unfortunately I foul hooked it but it swam off very strongly.

This photo was taken on the same day that I caught the above fish,

is it an egret?

A river carp on my ultra light rod, caught on free lined bread.

A snake which just plopped into the river and swam to the other side.

A spider which was in my apartment, I caught it in a glass and took it outside.

A pretty flower.

I was in Japan a few years ago when one of my sons was there teaching English. From memory it looks like a carp to me, although I admit I'm no expert on the fish of Japan.

Nice one.... Sure looks like a barbel to me...White bird does look like a little egret, loads around here...I bet that carp gave you a good fight, nice catch....

Fish looks like a barbel, did it have "whiskers" under it's chin, like this one

if it did it then it's a barbel
