On the subject of small robots in space...

The 'New Horizons' probe is about to arrive (and shoot by) the Pluto system in about 23 days from now.

Also, many people imagine that the distances between the planets of our system are large, but relatively evenly spaced as that as how they are often pictured. The reality is that the outer planets are very very spread out, this image indicates by how much.

Yes, this is much more exciting. Comets are fine but I remember reading about Percival Lowel as a child.
