Pertex Smock/Jacket -Rec's??

I am in the market for a good quality Pertex/Pile smock or jacket .

Anyone got any good suggestions or links to one that are proven and trusted??

Anygood ? Or does something better exist?

I have tried on an Arktis Mammoth jacket which was like a furnace!! Nothing clever about the design , just really,really thick, ideal if your on late night stag i guess but just over kill for most things.

I've always been very fond of the Buffalo range, very tough, very well made. For most seasons in the UK the 'Teclite' range seems to fit the bill.

Very, very good. I have a Buffalo Special 6 too, but I much prefer the Montane.

I use a Snugpak one and rate it very highly.

Or go for separates: use a fleece plus a pertex windshirt like the Arktis Stowaway.

More flexibility, probably no more weight.

Here is a vote for the Montane
I have had buffalo's and don't get me wrong great bits of kit but I think that you get more for your money with the Montane, the hood is standard and there is a crotch strap also included.
Good heavy pile with a soft fleece collar and fleece in the armpits to allow for good ventilation. better cuffs in my opinion.
