Hey guys,
I just got 60ml x 12% Permethrin from Military Mart. I want to use 1/2 to treat a single net, anf the rest to treat some clothing. How much water do I need to add to dilute it?
Thanks!
I would not want to give you direct numbers, since it is a long while since I did A-level chemistry and I am conscious that by advising I would be responsible if you got into problems...So, when I want to take my 11%w/w net treatment and turn it into 0.5% clothing treatment, I go on-line and search on google for "Dilution calculation" and get a whole load of sites that do nothing but explain how to turn A volume of B concentration into C volume of D concentration.
I think it would be quite simple however, since you have a 12% concentration if you wanted 6% you could just add 60ml of water surely? Double the water content to dilute the chemical by half. Of course i could be wrong. But working on that you would need to add that 60ml to around 1.4 litres to get a 0.5% concentration.
