Hi all.

Myself, my cousins and my uncle are going to walk the Pennine way starting from Derby. From our research we realised we'd be needing between 3 and 6 maps, according to who you listen to.

Is there not a single map that shows the whole route, scaled-down to fit on one page, or is the route so long that this is not possible?

The pennine way starts in Edale and is 268 miles long. I did it with the handbooks !north and 1 south I've lent them to a friend so I cant remember who wrote them I think it was Tony hopkins IIRC but don't quote me. They have a sort of ribbon map of the route and a written guide to the route accompanying that days walk. Agoogle search should find them for you.

Just get Wainwrights little book buddy - it is excellent, that is all you need. Besides you just follow the paving stones these days!!;)

You'll also meet up with countless other folks doing it the same time as you anyways and are always walking parts of the route with them. Believe me the last thing you will be is getting lost. :) Regards, Geoff.

Harvey Maps do the route on 3 (strip) maps. They're a tenner a pop but on nice weatherproof paper (much less bulky than OS explorers)
