nowthen back in the 70s, i had an lp album (thats a record before such things as cds for you younger members, yes i am that old).I cant remember who it was by, but it was a folk music album.A song on it was the penine rangers song,As far as i can remember the words went like this.
Three penine rangers went up to the hut.
The beans were on the primus all coverd with soot.
One penine ranger went to shut the door,the beans fell of the primus
and coverd the floor.
Three penine rangers looking very sad,
one said to t other e mi lad thats bad.
For how can a ranger exist without his beans.
Then in the distance coming very quick, came a penine ranger and in his hand a stick,
and int t other what do you think was seen.
Your right first time me lads a dozen tins of beans.
Soon the penine rangers were sat down to a feed,
each the others capacity was trying to exeed.
When the meal was over they couldnt get through the door,
so they had to spend the night with the beans upon the floor.
Without a spoon.
Just thought that it might raise a smile,or remind some of past jaunts.
