Cheers for all the replies chaps! I think that as a noob I may have been a bit slap dash with my use of the word 'paracord'

I've decided to keep the 'utility rope' as it'll manage all three of us (didn't realise the DD tarps come with 4 guy lines)

A far superior line for high strength guy lines would be Spectra Dyneema high visibility throw line, 650 lb breaking strain, low stretch. Or Kelty Trip Tease which is 3 mm nylon with a dyneema core and is reflective.
