Page loading locations

Every thread I open opens at at least the second post, and it's really starting to chaffe my nerves to be honest. On top of this going back to a list of threads I automatically get directed to the bottom of the page.
It's not too bothersome with a mouse scroll but on a laptop with no mouse handy it is starting to bug me.

Is this a firefox thing? or does everyone get it?
And can it be fixed?

sometimes I get it... sometimes I don't.. haven't worked out a pattern yet (I.E.7 btw)

It's a known problem, but i can't remember if it's a problem with the forum software, the server, or the browsers. IIRC it was low down the priority list as there were bigger bugs to be sorted out at the time.
