K1 in Elmax Drop Point, green micarta, elmax steel, stonewashed. Ive just traded one of these for my bark river, what do you reckon?

Course, this is meant to be an all rounder, to be used for hunting, as well as around camp.

What are the knifemakers opinions of the elmax?

The TR12-S (if that's it) is a stunning little beast, also Elmax, and like you say they are very well finished. Andreas is a great guy to deal with as well and he knows what he is doing. For value for money at the price point they are hard to beat.

Elmax is suposed to be at the top of the heap as far as knife steel goes. I havent made/used one myself, but my bladesmith neighbour swears by it.

Mark Hill made me a knife in Elmax a year ago. It's fantastic. Edge holding of a carbon steel, corrosion resistance of stainless.

Good to know, [I keep trying to get hold of Marks, RWL34 eagle off alphaburner, but he aint havin it. ]

Anyhow, just arrived, and put it through the stones, 800/1200/3000/5000/honing strop, and it is now a scary sharp convex edge.

Really like this knife. Best kydex sheath ive seen. Really strong solid clip in.

I cant mate I skint....one day though...one day...
