Idle hands etc, knocked this up today, quick release as I don't wear a saw constantly, also left bottom open so I can put in sheath briefly without closing the saw. I'm pleased with the result. Think it will work well.

Very nice. However I’m not sure I’d want to put the saw blade through it much if at all, unless there’s an unseen welt in the stitched side?

That's great! Very neat stitching.
I'd never have thought of a sheath like that - I just seem to be accustomed to folding and putting back in my pocket.

It wouldn't interfere with the stitching as blade is thinner than the knife and I would hardly if ever do that but on the odd occasion when I may need two free hands for a brief moment. And yes obviously before I am inundated with comments not exactly heath and safety wise a good idea on the belt but carried OK

Very smart stitching.
Unusual and effective
How do you get on with the saw? Clearly well enough to make a sheath for it. Oh, hang on, I've answered my own question

Yep fine, works really well, lots of people don't like them but I find it suits my purposes, happily cuts through branches up to about 100mm.
