Opinel no. 12 mods

Got this Opi from Mr 9" Ninja on here and I just had to have a tinker!

Cut some rip saw teeth into top of blade, installed a button compass and a 4mm ferro rod. As usual I had some manufacturing defects and wood splitting out but it's all glued back now and functional!

Only thing left is to put a lanyard on with a decent amount of cordage.

Ha ha, yes probably! Saws not the sharpest at the mo....got bored of filing but is ok as is but won't win any wood sawing speed records!

i'd thought the compass would get affected by the metal(of the blade).....

Sound! Nice bit of tinkering.could do with a leather sheath stop the saw from shredding the pockets

Doesnt seem to and I've done this on a no. 9 also that has seen some use and is still pointing true. I did put a micro compass in the side of a plastic Swiss Army knife and that did get affected by the blade.
