Hi Everone,

came across this when going through my late fathers things.
not sure if its a worker but seems in very nice condition.
Can anyone tell me anything about it,
and what sort of value it may be worth if i was to sell this on.
cheers
Byron

I used to have a IIIa, never seen one that colour though.
You could try running some film through it. You need to re-trim the leader so that it is about double the normal length. Always found mine awkward to load through the bottom.
Take it to a good camera dealer to apraise, I also have my suspicions about it though.

Sorry but looks like a fake to me as well.

I've handled a few over the years and the thing that always stands out is the precise engineering.

Quite apart from the key statement in the link from Imagedude: "Leica never produced a brass camera." there's just something that doesn't look "right" to me about it.

Hope I'm wrong but don't think I am.

Unfortunately it is a fake - it's a re-engraved Fed or Zorki from Russia.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

In the woods if possible.
I've got one somewhere which is similar, but the case is absolutely identical. I think I paid a tenner for it in a swap shop in about 1975. I was probably robbed. :(
