Thanks for the tip Mary. I supose I can let them soak in the fridge? Although on second thought, fermented might be interesting!

I quite like sowans, it's a slurpy sort of tangy oatmeal. If you like yoghurt, lassi, buttermilk, it has something of that to it.

If you let it ferment well enough it'll make small beer :) or a kind of oat based light stout.

If the Oats are the flat, rolled ones, you can make Bircher Muesli.

Very easy, very healthy. A classic Swiss healthy breakfast, nice as an evening meal too !

Unless you plan to eat them up within a couple of months, I would keep them in a freezer.
