Hi Folks
Can anyone who is familiar with the Rossendale Valley, especially the Rawtenstal/Waterfoot part direct me to some oak trees that have oak apples/galls on them?
From looking for them the last three days I've only found 5 of and 4 of those were remarkably gall free, only the wizened example on Dark Lane had any at all but I did get 8 off it. Ive got some Copperas and powdered Gum Arabic in the post and plan to have a ink making session with the lads.
If I have no joy here we are off to the inlaws in Oxford in a few weeks so we can go gall hunting down there.
