New year present

Happy new year everyone
Started this bowl Xmas day and just had its first coat of danish oil.
Its not the prettiest in the world but its the journey from log to bowl and who its for.my long suffering girlfriend.its the only present given this recent xmas.
Its made from ash as it was and offcut from a log for a flatbow im making.axed,draw knifed,spoon knifed and sanded.

Looks like a nut bowl to me I use one my Uncle made me for whole hazelnuts and the crackers.

I treasure the pieces made for me, and I use them too. I think your girlfriend will be well pleased

She is thanks.apparently its going to sit on her desk at work for those assumingly odd questions.
The cuts and aching hands make it so worth while.the frustrating part is letting it season to be able to continue with it.its ok for a first time.
