New boots

I've been after a proper pair of plain leather boots that arent typical walking/hiking style or have patches of synthetic fabric as well as leather. Id humm'ed and haah'ed over assault boots, para boots, jcf boots but the all looked a bit "boring old army boot" to me. Finally I found some tgat took my fancy (good old ebay)

Ta daah, now ive just got to break the buggers in!

Robbi is right they are ffl boots, I got these of ebay, no signs of wear at all, I think the bloke who had em just polished them. Fit perfectly but are v heavy and tough.

they are normally very pricey but these were a bit of a bargain

I have a pair of these and they are bit brutal to break in, but now they are they are very comfortable. The construction is bombproof. Mine came new date stamped 1962 and they look like they will last for many more years. I put a pair of cheap thin cork and fabric insoles in them. I also have the later model in black made by Marbot Neuvic and they were a lot easier to break in. I bought mine from a french ebay seller as they were and still are going for silly money.

Yeah, there was no way I could justify the £170 for a brand new pair, (although if looked after they look like they would probably out last no end of £100 boots). Im going out for a walk in them tomorrow (just wearing them around the house today).

the frogs have just made a copy of the yank M43s (which you can get new for £80 + or - depending on supplier if yours go to the cobbler in the sky) and added DMS soles. I've a pair of ww2 us para boots which have the same sole as the m43s and they are crap for grip, shame they don't have the same soles as yours tbh.
