Thought I'd share these as one is supposed to be for a member of the forum :)

I had intended the top knife to have a blade of 6" (as requested by the customer),but I put the 6" mark on my anvil in the wrong place when I forged it, so it's now 7" Both blades are forged to finished from 1.1% high carbon steel, with soft backs and tangs.

The top one is 4mm thick at the spine (full flat) and has a hawthorn handle; there are mosaic pins there too but they don't show well in this pic.

Bottom one is about 5mm at the back and the handle is from my own micarta, in this case heavy green linen.

Sheathes will be coming soon....

I've a definate fondness for hawthorn (well the wood anyway!), especially the red splodges that appear sometimes. I haven't worked out what causes it but the creamy yellow wood becomes a little pinky just before the red that can get quite dark.

Britannia!
lovely knives mate, they look brilliantly rustic and the finish on the blades is just the icing on the cake!

how much do these go for?
