Hi, all...

I got a new project, and I need your help.

I have an old meat cleaver I wanna transform to a knife. The design is (as you can see) Tom Brown's Tracker (or older WSK).

The blade thickness is 5mm (cca. 1/5").

My question is: How to cut this?? What would be the best way to do it??

The cleaver (red lines - cutting lines; green lines - sharpening lines)

Any of you wanna do some pro bono work??

use a brand new cutting disc on an angle grinder (preferably a thin disc) and cut a little over sized, say 4mm. Then very carefully grind the rest of the metal away with a new grinding disc being careful not to over heat it. I say to use new discs coz they are more aggressive and build up heat less quickly ;)

Or anneal it and cut out however you like, then re heat treat it. That's assuming you have those facilities :)
