Here's my attempt to make a pile shirt, similar to a Buffalo shirt

100% olive green cotton Ripstop with a Sherpa fleece lining.

Just now need to sus adding the zips to the collar and sides (new to this sewing lark!)

I've had a Mardale pile shirt for years, but over the years used it near fires and for welding in and because it has a Pertex outer, there's loads off burn holes that's why I've used cotton to try and avoid this.

That's an ambitious project for a beginner! I'll look forward to seeing progress on this one, it's looking great so far.............

It's coming on....

Just added the other sleeve, Velcro wrist fasteners and also done the collar and zip - zip turned out easier than I thought.

Just the kangaroo pouch and pockets to do and also the side double zips.

Cheers Toddy.

The double layers aren't a problem. When I cut the ripstop pieces out, I cut the same out in the fleece, overlaid the fleece over each of the pieces and then sewed all the edges together, a couple of mm from the edge.
