I have hankered after a frontier stove for a while and after seeing one in action I defo needed one! Tho as like most I have a wife and no way would i be allowed to purchase one, so Im in the process of making one!

Heres a few pics of the process:

Started with this empty gas bottle

took the tap/connection piont out and then filled it twice with watter to get every last drop of gas out!

then cut all the base stand off plus all the handle section. Then cut it length wise and cut the end off

Then using some 3mm plate cut to shape and seam welded up made the top

Made up three legs for it which screw into 24mm nuts

Door hinge made from stock stuff, dont like off the shelf ones!

made the door handle with 3 positions

Then capped of the top of the door with mesh and added a lip to the fire box to make the smoke go towards the flu

Added a carry handle and made from some steel tube a poker tool

Just need to make flu section for it now which will be made out of 3 inch exhaust, but xmas got in the way to be able to order it!

Will update once I get it!

Hope you like !

Hi mate, make sure you have air flow, even with the Door fully closed. Put a Baffle inside at the base of the Chimney hole, to discourage flames and heat going up the Chimney. IMO another good idea is a rail configuration you can hang on the Stove, to dry Socks and Gloves etc.
Always remember, the more air flow the hotter the Stove, but also the quicker the burn time for the fuel. I make a Basket affair for under the Stove to store and help dry Wood, while Stove is burning. Hope I haven't sounded insulting or tried to teach you to suck Eggs........there are plenty of other design ideas, but the Stove gets heavier and heavier...lol.
