This is the only knife I've made all year. I finished it about a year ago, used it a bit, but wasn't happy with it so finally got round to sorting it out and making a new sheath.

I reground a shallower bevel for a better slice and carve and got the handle just right for my hand. The sheath is a design I have been trying to work out for ages and I've finally cracked it.

It's made from 4mm O1 flat stock with distal and tang tapers to 3mm. The overall length is 180mm with a blade of 80mm. The handle is amboyna burr with VF liners.

A nice simple knife, but the sheath is a bit fancy.

It is 3mm veg tan leather, lightly wet-molded and hand-tooled and can be configured in a number of ways:

Low on a belt:

High on a belt

On a rucksack belt

And safely tucked away in a pack

It'll finally do, for now!

Thanks for looking

Shep - I can only see four of your photo's, but that looks like a brilliant answer to the issue of multi-position knife carry without having to change sheath for a different carry style.

Nice one

Same here, pics of the knife are missing. Like what I can see though.

That sheath design is pretty awesome IMO

Well it comes up 'Photo is currently unavailable'. No idea why Flickr would think that sooo... you could rehost somewhere else? tinypic doesn't require you to register to upload photos so that'd be nice n quick

I can still only see 5 pics but what you have done is incredible. I'm pretty much in awe of you guys that make your own knives and leatherwork. Definitely something to aspire to :)
