I'm a big fan of Opinels, cheap, practical and I love the simple design/natural materials. The carbon blades sharpen up a treat too!
The No5 is the 'normal' UK EDC of choice, with a blade less than 3" and non locking etc. etc.
I however like the bigger, chunkier Opinels, so I modded a No12
