Saudi Arabia
I was out and about last weekend, down at one of the shopping malls in Saudi Arabia, where I currently live/work.

While I was in Saco World (a bit like B&Q) I was wandering around the BBQ section.
It’s starting to cool down a bit, so it’ll be BBQ season soon.

Anyway I spotted an interesting wood stove on a shelf.
On closer inspection, it seemed to be a gasifier stove, but bigger than I’d seen before.

It’s quite big.
I took it out for a test burn this morning, and with a small handful of kindling, it went up like a jet engine on reheat.

It’s a little heavy for backpacking, and it’s too big for a mug or a small pot, but it’s tremendous fun.
I just wonder what would happen if I put a Kelley kettle on top of it…..

It was very sooty on that burn, which I put down to the fact that the wood was local, and a bit resinous. I have other wood, which is from larger logs that I split down than burns far more cleanly. I noticed that it burned very hot.

I saw a review of one of these on YouTube, it looks brilliant and so easy to use, cant make up my mind between one of these or a jetboil, it makes my Trangia look a bit weedy!

Just checked out Amazon for one of these the £23 one looks the same, not quite as big, which is a bonus for me and will do the job!
