Bloody hell that looks cold, as said before "braver man than I".

You should be able to make a simple paddle out of hazel and roar-hide that looks a bit like a tennis racket, I know I've seen something like that somewhere but cant remember ware. From memory it was something like strapping to hazel polls together with both thick ends at the same end, then the thin ends bent out and round overlapping at the end the whole braised by interlaced sticks. Then covered with rourhide or leather.

Sorry thats a very bad explanation and so I'm going to illustrate it with a terrible drawing :p .

Im not shore ware he lived but he collected footballs on the river in shrewsbury. I think he dyed last year though unfortunately.
