Hello,
I'm new to the site and have come explicitly to learn more about leather work. I've never tried it, though worked with a guy who was always at it and envied him for months. Now I've bought a modest campervan, there are a few things I think I can improve in it if I knew how to make leather buckles, sheaths and belts. Since I'm no mechanic, this would be my contribution to its restoration.
But first things first: can any of you kind chaps recommend a starter kit, or series of tools I should start off with, towards making something like the beautiful leather man sheath featured here? I may be running before I can walk, but seems like a good, realistic first goal - albeit six months away!
Thanks for any help. There is some truly beautiful work on this forum. I loom forward to hearing more...
