In the Mountains
Today is the coldest day so far this winter over here so I decided to take a hike out this morning over the ridge and though the forest next to my home to visit a couple of lakes that have now frozen over.

The temperature when I headed out was -20 and then went up to about -17 by the time I finished .
This was a great morning everything was so quite and peaceful , I though I would share some photos that I took .

Wonderful, your'e a lucky man to live there. What are the local rivers?

Hi Dave

Both the lakes you see in the photos are fed by lots of small mountain streams which as far as I know don't have names, however the nearest big main river to where I was is the river Lech .
The Lech runs out of the mountains from both Austria and Germany

Absolutely beautiful, was this a walk with snow shoes ?

Cheers

MB

Not with snow shoes mate, the snow is quite packed so was OK just to walk on as long as I did not head off trail. I did bring a pair of half crampons in case things got a bit icy, but I did not need them today and I was not that high up :)
