My 13 yr olds over nighter

My son loves an overnighter he lrepped all the fire wood him self and a little guidance on the taro set ul from me but other thsn that hes self sufficient

I’ll be out with my fifteen year old grandson next month.

I guess fifteen is nearly as old as they get before other more indoor distractions step in.

In my grandsons’ cases festivals will keep them camping as much as Grampa will.

Just a word of advice (learned the hard way) for next time; make sure the blue tarp stays under the camouflaged one. Rain might otherwise run in under the latter and puddle precisely behind and around a sleepingbag.

I like his tarp set up it brings back memories, its how we used to do it when we were kids.

My lad went cycling through Austria/Hungary last summer using his tarp for shelter, a couple of camp sites refused him access because he didn't have a fully closeable tent, has anyone experienced this in the UK?
