Monocular case

I've a hankering to make a leather carry case for my monocular.
I'm figuring a tube is the easiest way to go about doing the case. So I'll need a long tube of leather large enough to fit the monocular and a slightly wider one to go over the first tube won't I?
Is there an easy but effective sewing technique for makin round leather pieces?
I've worked flat pieces of leather but not done 3D projects yet
Any hints or tips appreciated

Besides the buttons do you want to have a play at making a cylinder at our get together Sam?

It's noit much different to making a shot glass... just straight edges

I have some 3mm veg tan.
Was for a different project originally but that's been put on back burner as I've got a more than adequate sheath for the spydie
And far better than anything I'll come up with
