MOLLE Rucksack and Rocket Pouches

  • Hey Guest, Early bird pricing on the Summer Moot (29th July - 10th August) available until April 6th, we'd love you to come. PLEASE CLICK HERE to early bird price and get more information.
Hi all,

Am looking for a rucksack in the region of 40-55 litres with a decent covering of MOLLE front and top but also has the side zips to accommodate UK mil rocket pouches.

In an ideal world it would be the Sabre SF45 but the front and top would have MOLLE attachments. Is there anything similar to this out there.

Anybody know of one?

You could look at the 511, rush72, the side pockets are fixed though. Had one for years and never let me down.

I'm pretty set on the rocket pack idea. That gives me a lot of extra carrying capacity only when I need it.

I guess the other option is to purchase the SF or the Snugpak Rocket pack and get one of the local military shops to modify it for me.

Dutch army sting, lots of molle on the front (but not the top) and the Gen 2 version takes normal PLCE style pouches with the zip (the gen 1 has the zips the wrong way round so only the dutch pouches will fit). 50 litre main pouch and each side pouch is 10l. I use this over my civi lowe alpine of similar size specifically because the pouches are detachable. I often dont need them but its great to be able to add an extra 20l - they are a good size, + the front molle leaves more options as needed

available here for not much money, but in DPM only - as ling as you get the gen 2 pack any PLCE side pouch will fit as long as they are 'zip-up'

Ace back system aswell, very comfy, i have 2 lowe alpine bags (mil and civi) and its an excellent system.

Noting your dislike of DPM I do have an MTP Patrol pack. Brand new, it's like the Karrimor Predator 45 pack (which is another option) but made on contract by PRI. contact me if you're interested.

That looks to be just what I'm after.

Unfortunately I've seen enough DPM for one lifetine. It's a shame because that would have been perfect otherwise.

they *occasionally* turn up in olive green, and even less frequently they turn up in black.

This is the only DPM thing i own, i shy away from it to, but made an exception for this pack

If you like the pack but not the colours the one you want is the Karrimor Predator 45. Comes in OG, Black or CB. There’s a black Karrimor sabre for sale here on the forums. No Molle but great pack. Not mine I hasten to add.

The other option potentially is that I don't dislike my current pack. It's a Brandit Mule. I've modified it with a better hip belt and larger Viper side pouches and some extra front straps off the MOLLE for what seems to be a gigantic bedroll!!

The option is pack less so I don't need a bigger pack. Would you believe this is for an overnighter! Though in my defence I do have camera gear, dog coat and blanket wrapped up in that lot too

It's tight though and I much prefer to know I have some extra space should I need it.

@MrEd has brought an old post to my attention in which there was a Lowe Alpine Sting for sale.

On the face of it, it seems to he exactly what I am looking for. Sadly I fear not many were made in Olive Green and the bags are no longer in production it would seem.
