Just back from a beach bivi with Stooboy, and Miyagi, Please excuse the crud pics as mentioned in a previous post my camera is terminal, luckily stoo took some with his rather neat looking new camera so he should be along shortly with some good one's.

Stoo and Liam(miyagi)met me at my house around 2pm yesterday then we had the short drive to the cliff tops,(stoo's got a couple of good pics) then the decent, which had our heart's racing due to the heavy rain the night before everything was rather wet,and slippy.

once down we set up our tarp's bivi's tents etc,
this was my bed for the night,

its half a german 2 man pup tent (why oh why didnt i bring the other half) it was fine till around 2am then it rained rather heavily so i got up and threw a tarp over the open side.

this is stoo's tarp bivi set up,

we collected quite alot of drift wood which was absolutely soaking wet, luckily we'd brought a bit of coal from my house, and some dry tinder, so once this was going well we piled the drift all around/on top and this dried it well and we had a roaring fire, which we needed as it was misty as hell and we where getting damp but sat round the fire we dried off in no time,

brewing up,

I had a great time Andy, thanks again for the invite mate.

It was good to meet both you and stooboy and put faces to the names.

By chove that climb down and up was hair raising in places, but well worth the heart stopping slips of the foot etc.

I think that fire we had last night was kicking out more light than the lighthouse.

Thanks again mate, can't wait to do it again.

Looks like another good one Andy

I can imagine that path was a bit dodgy in places, I thought it was hard work in the dry.

Did the beach snails come in your bivvy for a munch ?

Not so sunny as our previous trip but still good weather given the drive down was through thick fog and rain.

Great View over the sea

Miyagi with two bags for now, before one non-breakable bag got launched to offer better hand grips, although not sure what martial arts he studied he did say that he thought his fingers had sunk into rock at one particular leap of faith point.

Remarkably i awoke without a hangover, managed to salvage what was left off the fire before Miyagi sorted out the breakfast on a frying pan we found on the shore...

some videos of the waves on the way down at one point we guestimated that the waves where above 15feet.

Despite the mist causing moisture the fire was roaring, and the company was great with plenty of fireside tails leading to a great evening, thanks to andy for organising, and to liam for twisting my arm ;) with the vodka.

Great photos there Stoo, just seen last years pics, and I can't beleive the good weather you all enjoyed then.

Yes, it was a good laugh this weekend. That surf sounded loud and booming all night, but helped disguise my snoring.

Can't wait for the next trip. Thanks lads. :)
