I've got a German version of one of those half tent/coat/poncho things. Bought it for a tenner off a friend just out of curiosity. I have n't worked out how to wear it yet, or tried it as a shelter. It all packs into its own napsack complete with pole sections.
Anybody know how to wear it? I watched a youtube on how to wear a WWII Wermacht version, but mine doesn't seem to be quite the same.
If it’s the one that’s camo on one side, and, I think, green or brown on the other, I have a set. The pouch it sometimes comes with (I bought mine separate) doubles as a hood that buttons onto the poncho. I’m not at home and haven’t used it for some years, but I seem to remember, it’s just a simple cape that doesn’t involve any fancy arranging, unlike the Wehrmacht one, or the Norwegian “lone wolf” tarp shelter/poncho. When I bought mine, it came with some old wooden Swiss army poles that were dated 1943. They were actually a bit either long or short, so I located a set of the proper aluminium ones that come in sleeves with the same camo pattern as the tent halves. I actually really like this tent although, usually I just use one half, being camo, it’s great for stealth camps.
