Mesh fire pit base...

I've seen these on the Interweb but never seen one for sale.
It's made from 25mm wire mesh, each wire being 3mm diameter.
The idea is that you peg out the chains allowing the fire pit to be suspended over the melting snow. Without one of these mesh bases your fire tends to disappear into the snow

And here it is folded. Total weight is 1.2Kg. The mesh pieces are articulated using 4mm chain repair links.

I've got something similar that I bought off a former member here a long time ago.
the 4 quarters of the base were punched metal plate rather than weld mesh and the 'pegs' attached to the chains were flat pieces of metal about 2" wide and 13" long. Twas a heavy thing I recall. The other advantage as the snow melts out from under the fire is better airflow

I remember him saying at the time that the people who made it were no longer producing them.

Ive knocked one up as well Bob.

We used one in anger in Sweden. Wouldnt pay £50 for it though.
